Between TravelHome again, at least for a couple of days between weddings. The weather here is hot but we prefer hot to having to shovel
snow any day. WE'll be here just long enough to take care of our personal business and then we're off again. We
live in a 55+ community and many of the neighbors have already left for their summer residences, mostly in Canada and the
Northern States. Our last trip was to Colorado with a stop in Moab, one of our favorite haunts. We did some rock
hounding, and climbed some rocks to see dinosaur bones in rocks. I slipped on the way back down and fell right on my
butt, and back against a boulder. It knocked the wind out of me, and I have some bruises but didn't break anything so
no harm done. My husband didn't hear me because he was off somewhere else searching for more bones to see. After
Moab we headed to Colorado. We didn't have to be in Colorado Springs until Saturday for a wedding, so we decided
to get there a little early to see the sights. We hit it smack dab between the days of beautiful 80 degree
summer temps. When we arrived, we ran into 40+ degree, overcast and sometimes rainy weather. Lucky us...NOT! And
that wasn't the end of our bad luck streak. Rocky Mt Ntl Park was still closed as were other roads we had wanted to explore.
Not because of the weather or road conditions. They just didn't want to open the roads yet. We did make it to Aspen. Nice, but after a day I start feeling clostraphobic in that part of the Rockies. The valleys
are narrow, surrounded by mountains that go on forever. In fact, the ski resorts are all along the sides of the main highway
to Denver in narrow valleys slammed against the mountains. (click on the link for more about Colorado if you'd like) The snow is great in winter because it's drier than the Utah snow I'm told. So, it's good for skiing. We came across
bikers, who ride in tandum making sure you can't pass them. And we had the great pleasure of watching a group of real cowboys
doing spring branding. They were all very pleasant and it was something you don't see every day so we snapped photos and watched
them work. It was great. We leave again for the next wedding tomorrow. I'm just reouperating from the last trip.

Summer's ComingSummer is almost here and we've already done a bit of traveling to some of our favorite haunts in the west. Moab was fantastic.
We also went to Monument Valley. A beautiful place but not one we'd re-visit. Not enough to see and do in the area. Our next trip will be to Colorado. Haven't been back in thirty years so it will be great to see that part of the Rockies
again. Can't wait to take pictures. Then we head up north to Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. Last summer we found a
few gem quality saphires so we'll try our luck again. Our favorite spot is still Island Park up that way because of all there
is to do and it's a great jumping off spot for Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier and Northwest Montana. Unfortunately,
we've got to sell the cabin in Island Park. Hate to sell it. It's right on the water and so relaxing. If you know of anyone
looking for a good deal, tell them about it. http://rivercabinforsale.blogspot.com Keeping busy with the new website. I like doing the research and writing articles etc. This one is about vacations
and travel in the west. Ck it out http://travelinthewest.com
Gotta keep busy and do things now while we're still young enough and healthy enough to enjoy ourselves!
